The rock band is "L'Arc-en-Ciel".

L'Arc-en-Ciel is one of the most famous rock band in Japan.

They were formed in 1991.

Their members are :

They put on a concert "20th L'Anniversary Live" in the last year.

Kimono and Yukata

I received one question from my friend.


"What is difference between Yukata and Kimono?"


I answer it today.



First, there's a difference about material.

Originally, Kimono is made of silk.

There're Kimono that is made of cotton, polyester, or wool.
But high-quality Kimono is made of silk.

Yukata is made of cotton.

Generally, Kimono is more expensive than Yukata.


Next, the clearer difference is "formal or casual".

Kimono is Japanese traditional formal wear.

On the other hand, Yukata is casual wear.

The origin of the Yukata is bathrobe.
But, now it became casual wear in summer festivals.


Kimono is like that.

People wear it in summer when they go to Ennich, or display of Japanese fireworks.

The biggest reason is that Yukata makes women very beautiful.

JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE

Do you know "JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE"?


JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE (called simply "JOJO") is a Japanese manga which was started in 1987 in Weekly Shonen Jump.

JOJO is very popular in Japan.
In 2009, JOJO's original pictures were put on display in Louvre Museum.

So, I think JOJO is popular all around the world.
How is it in your country?


And today, exhibitions of original pictures of JOJO is stared in Sendai (a Japanese city, next to Fukushima).

This is Araki Hirohiko (author of JOJO).
He cut the tape at the opening ceremony of the exhibitions.

The exhibitions will be held in Tokyo.
I plan to go to it in October.And I will report it if I can go.


My favorite character in JOJO is DIO.
He is so cool!

Terrible PEPSI

Is "PEPSI" sold in your country?

I think PEPSI is loved all around the world.


In Japan, "special taste PEPSI" is released about twice a year.

They are some examples:

ICHIRO's legend

Have you heard the news ICHIRO is traded to Yankees?

ICHIRO is one of the best baseball player in Japan...no, in the world!
Most Japanese people respect him if they are not familiar with baseball.

I'm not interested in baseball very much.I love to spectate soccer than baseball.
Nevertheless, I respect him very much, too.

I can't believe he is 38 years old now!



ICHIRO is too great, some Japanese people believe such legend of ICHIRO in Japan...


"As a matter of fact, ICHIRO's moon walk is faster than cheetah."

"The most important news in USA in 2006 is ICHIRO's strikeout."

"ICHIRO can catch his own home run ball and throw back by his laser beam."

Of course, they are joke, but ICHIRO is respected enough to be said such legends.

Japanese Noodle!

Do you know Japanese instant noodle?

I've heard people calls cup noodle for all instant noodle.
Actually, "Cup Noodle" is a brand name of Nissin.

Today, my lunch is a instant noodle called "Yakisoba".
Here is pictures.

Yakisoba is a popular home cooking.

It is noodle cooked in a frying pan with sauce.

Sometimes, mayonnaise is in it.

In summer, Japanese "Ennich" or "Matsuri" take place in anywhere in Japan.
It's Japanese community festival.
Yakisoba is one of main cooking in the festivals.

Ennichi is like this.
